Disassembling the HHR

I was outside earlier and was trying to take apart my hhr because some of my carbon fiber finally came in. The first part I'm wanting to do is the black part around the shifter. I took the chrome off and figured that part would just pop out but It didn't want to budge. I then started taking off the dark grey part and I could get the part off by the gear shifter, but couldnt get it off up by the window controls. I couldn't see a bolt anywhere either. Any taken this part off yet.

after you pop off the window button bezel threr are 2 screws that hold the shifter
panel in place at the 2 fwd top corners after that you should be able to pop out that part as there are just clip holding it in place . if anymore questions please send me a private message and i will help you oit as i work in a gm dealer in the parts dept.

Adam, if you want to CF the shifter panel, your best bet is to cut a trim piece and install it on top of the existing panel. The shifter PRNDL window id part of that panel.

Hope it helps,

Good Luck! It would be easier to make a paper template and cut the material off the car, then stick it on.
