did they just drop the pan or did they need to remove the whole transmission from the car? (while changing those solenoids)

The solenoids are in the side case of the trans, doesn’t have to be pulled but very little space to work with not very difficult though there’s plenty of YouTube videos showing different ways to get to and replace them
