Done did it again- another panel!

Found on Facebook, a 2007 LS Panel with the automatic. 260,000 miles, it was a company car for a wine distributor. Seller claimed the engine was replaced at 216,000 miles with one from a low mileage wreck, but no paperwork. Don't care, mileage means nothing to me. It's got some rust and a door dent, but it's solid underneath, unlike my 08 panel that's getting disassembled for repair soon.
It has a CEL with codes for EVAP purge solenoid, IAT, MAF voltage high, both O2 sensors, but runs and shifts perfectly. Broken inside driver door handle.
No annoying TPMS. No missing parts, even got the owner's manual with it. Garbage broken hubcaps. Tailpipe rusted and broken in front of muffler. Speakers are shot. All in all, just the normal things.

Worst part? They used a DA sander to remove some of the hand painted company logo. Went through to bare metal in a couple spots.

Best part? Got it for a cool $1000. These days, that's a bargain for anything that will move under it's own power.

Here's some pics of it and my 08 2LT, oddly similar....

It's getting an android auto head unit, due to the action of buying 2 of them last year when I put one in my 08. ($50 for a headunit and 4 speakers is tough to resist).
I already replaced the broken door handle and the MAF sensor with parts from the junkyard. Now the code is for low voltage on the MAF, which usually indicates a plugged air filter. Got a new air filter and cabin filter to install. I cut a quarter panel patch from a junkyard HHR, and I can bump out the door dent pretty easy. It has 3 new tires and one mismatch, seller told me a pothole took out one wheel and they just grabbed a replacement from the junkyard. I'll worry about that later. Got some cheap hubcaps, good enough for now. The remote fob isn't working right, all that works is the panic button. Lock/Unlock and remote start are not working, I know a CEL stops the remote start function, but not sure why lock/unlock doesn't work. )& didn't have door poppers on the remote, but the dash buttons work fine.

My 08 is all chromed out, I'm going blackout/body color on the 07. I plan to paint the center stack interior trim and door trim red, and blackout the grille and headlights, and other exterior trim. First step was making the keychains LOL

Clean the contacts inside the fobs, and put in a new CR2032 battery and check the battery cage for cracks or damage

Tossed some cheap hubcaps on for now, contemplating a two tone paint job since I am not real good at paint blending....

You can use films in a wide variety of colors and textures. A goodway to avoid mistakes when painting. But the film must be stretched without violating the technology, so that the body under the film does not sweat or rust.

Like the hubcaps. Where'd they come from?
