Try this site. Input what size was on the vehicle and what you now have and it will tell you the difference at different speeds.

Oh and I quit buying/driving red vehicles and have not had a ticket since 1987!

Thanks, oddly enough, I think the last time I got a ticket was in my last red car... I think...

The wed site was informative, the information was amusing!!!
I am not sure I wish to pursue it, or even if it is worth it to fix. I wonder what this does to the DIC's MPG calc...

dig this:

WebCars! Tire/Wheel Compensation Report
The circumference of the P215/55 x 16 original tire is 79.5168 inches

The circumference of the P215/50 x 17 aftermarket tire is 79.9992 inches

Your speedometer reading is 99.3% of your true speed.

The ratio of your old vs. new tires is 0.99.

The current differential ratio is:
To retain the same overall gear ratio, you will need a differential with a 0 ratio.

Without correction, your speedometer error will be:

I can't help but wonder if the fact she is Sport Red Metallic has anything to do with it.

Oh well, we will see what traffic school is like this time!

Being an ex cop.... an experienced officer can see a vehicle that is traveling over the speed limit.... Red and Yellow vehicles are more noticable.....I had a Red Gran Prix.... and was traveling with several vehicles and we were all driving over the speed limit.... but i was the one stopped... The officer told me that he noticed me out of the bunch and clocked me.... The speed he clocked me at was correct...to my luck being one of the blue he didnt write me and stated he wished he had clocked one of the others..

That is one of the reasons fire trucks are mostly Red and Yellow...

Everyone needs a ticket every couple of years to keep them honest.
Hmm, I'm about due for one.

Im glad you took responsibility. State cops are usually respectful and pleasant as your are respectful and pleasant. It is the local cops that are usually the aholes.(No offense to any local cops here) The local cops around here pull people over for anything. One time a local cop pulled over my aunt to check if she and her children had their seatbelt on. She was not speeding or anything.Local cops write tickets because in the small towns that is a great source of revenue and sometimes the greatest. The cops are told to pull over anyone for any violation.
