If we don’t know the answer, then sorry, nobody could answer you. Most of our tuner members have sold their SS’s and left the site. Our main tuner guy passed away a few years ago. If the stock tune worked , it must have been something to do with the HP tune.

 

Turning the MIL light off does not make it "ready". From what I recall reading, the "ancient and accepted" solution is doing what you did; remove the tune, same as going to a dealership Service Dept.
Some states a tune is illegal and a tune voids any warranty, GM won't touch it whether it is in warranty or not.
Fiddling with OBD emissions data can be dangerous, look at what happened to VW diesel, they had to pay a fine and buyback cars. They only fudged the fuel consumption AlGoreithm.
