factory amp

why does the factory amp have so many wires ?
and a amp you buy at a radio shop use less wires ?

Mostly because each speaker has a + and a - in both directions (from HU/to speakers) except for the tweeters. Add on units probably try to get away with common instead of -.

As Don said, most of those wires are for the speakers. A few others for power, ground, signal etc.
If you can see it, here's a pic with all the factory amp connections.

Interesting thing is the HU seems to be the same. If the connectors are different it is just positions for the lo level audio section.
