Factory Tinted Glass Question

Factory Tinted Glass Question
Hey y'all,
I'm wondering if any one can tell me about the Solar Ray factory tinted glass. I haven't been able to find any info on GM Canada's website or via a google search.
What I'm interested in knowing is what sort of UV blocking specs the factory tint has. Does it block out UVA or UVB rays? What percentage of rays is it spec'ed to block?
Thanks

When I had my front windows tinted I told the installer to match the VLT% (Visible Light Transmission percentage) to the rear windows. He told me that I would have to go with a film rated at 15% to match the rear. In Indiana 30% is the legal rating - but I still went with the 15%. Looks great - plus over a period of time it will loss some of its reflective properties and will fade more towards the 20% to 25% range. If you really must know much UVA and UVB the factory tint blocks out. Then contact GM Customer Assistance and ask for Technical Support department – they should know.

that is a good question indeed! i just had my windows tinted to Georgias legal 35% with a 5% eyebrow. Window tint guy told me the factory tinted windows block no heat and recommended i tint those too. Needless to say i didnt because I thought he was just fishing for an extra sale. I hope I am correct.

I plan to tint the entire car, 27% front (legal SC limit), 30% backs & liftgate, then drive over to GA to get the eyebrow done (not legal in SC without AS1 line )
If you're worried about UV, get a quality tint job done...
