Fog Lamp Placement

I'd like to have your opinion, guys and gals. I'm getting my aftermarket fog lamps installed Saturday, but haven't quite decided on the ones to get. Do you think it would throw off the look if I install them in the spacing under the front bumper or should I go ahead and play it safe and install them in the original ports on the outside? I'm having a hard time finding any 5" fog lamps. The biggest I can find so far is 4 1/2 and 4 1/4. I'm just afraid it may look a little off if I have those installed in the original ports. If I go under the bumper behind the front license plate, I was thinking of installing the rectangle fog lamps. Not the boxy type, but the ones that are rounded off on the edges. Just looking for some suggestions. I'll try post some example pics on here, or feel free to post some example pics if you have any ideas. Thanks y'all.

IMO go with the factory fogs in the factory location, it will look a lot better. When I added fog lights to my Mustang I bought the parts through my local Ford dealership so I would have the factory original parts and they would fit correctly in the front fascia. I'm not a big fan of just bolting on aftermarket fogs and if you change your mind later down the road you'll have holes to fill in in your fascia. If you have your heart set on aftermarkets rather than the Chevy units why dont you cut holes in the factory plastic covers you have and install them there? At least then they won't look so out of place.

Street Scene makes a 5" light. I believe (but won't swear on it) that these should snap into the factory holes.

do not forget to get the bcm reprogrammed after you install them and you use
the original switch and harness

Forgot about the bcm being reprogrammed. Thanks for the heads up. However, if I use an alternate in cab control switch, would I still have to reprogram the BCM?

You only have to worry about the BCM if you are using the factory fog lights. If you are wiring in a set of aftermarkets then you have nothing to worry about.

That 5" set is nice, but only reason why i wouldnt order it, at least for my HHR, is due to the blue rim around the each lamp. My HHR is Sport Red, I don't think it would look right. There are a lot of interesting products on that website though. I'm keeping that one in my favorites especially when everything is FREE SHIPPING!

Yeah I think the blue would look decent on mine since I was thinking about changing the color of the bow ties to a blue of some sort.
