Question Foolish to give up Honda for HHR?

Hello y'all, first post. Will keep as brief as possible.

Former HHR owner. Owned an '07 from 2016-2020. Loved it. But saw an old-lady-owned 2011 Civic with low mileage, so I got that. This was pre-Pandemic, before prices skyrocketed.

After 2 years, I dislike the Civic. It's... boring. But as of this writing, it only has 80K miles on it. I know it can last 280K, but the idea of driving a car I dislike for that long makes me cringe.

Found another HHR at an estate sale. Again, old lady owned, impeccably maintained. 2010 with just 41K miles. Purchased for $6500.

I know my Honda's value with those low miles, I could probably sell it and make about $1200-$1500 more than what I paid for the HHR. But I'm getting cold feet about giving up the Honda because of that tried-and-true reliability. I had no major complaints with the HHR's reliability, but there were a few things here and there I had to fix.

What do you think, is it foolish to give up a 2011 Civic for a 2010 HHR? I'd appreciate any outside opinions. Looking forward to being a part of the forum!

I’m prone to say HHR , with 41,000 miles , hands down, why? Cause I don’t fit well into a Civic ! And I’m a Chevy guy not Honda.

You are asking in an HHR site. You may want to ask this same thing at the Honda site to get a less biased answers. At least the biases will be equaled.

A few years ago I bought an Acura (Honda) because of its renowned reliability. Turns out I hated the car, it was totally useless for what I needed a second car for (hauling stuff) and then I learned Hondas also had some issues (transmissions) of their own. It really depends on what you need your car for.

Civic and HHR are completely different cars, not a single common denominator at all.
The Honda is relatively reliable - but no more so than the Chevy, which is pretty reliable too.
Honda is more expensive to maintain and repair.
The Honda engine is high-revving, it must be constantly maintained at high speeds in order for the car to be frisky. In combination with automatic transmission, such a need causes melancholy. There are no problems on the highway, but in the city when moving from traffic light to traffic light ...
These are the cons that turn me away from Honda. Not my car. I, like Oldblue, am a Chevy man. However, this a place where Chevy people hang out, no need to be surprised.
