Free Running Boards or under $200???
Free Running Boards or under $200???
I am getting ready to take some "ammo" to my dealership about the sandblasting/rock chipping going on with my fenders.
I need your help. I need to know who got free to under $200 (dealer bought and installed and painted) running boards here. It will really help when it comes time to show him that people are getting them free.
Thanks everyone,
Angel

Just a question, have you called and reported your problem to GM?
On a different Fourm Site it seemed that the more they called, reported, and sent info to them (GM), the more people got a discount.
If you had no damage, the less discount you got.
I can not post the talley here, but good luck with your plight.

Thanks Karen. I have quite a bit of damage.
I have called GM and they said to go back to the dealer. The dealer has seen the damage last time I took it in to the shop for oil change and cleaned it up (still had chips though) and said "you need running boards". This was my sales rep.
Well, had I been told from the get-go that running boards would have prevented damage, I would have had them added to the cost of the car. We live paycheck to paycheck and budgeted for the monthly payments. We don't have an extra $800+ (after paint, install and cost of boards since they no longer come painted) to spend on this all at once. Yet, my car is getting more and more damage.
I just want to be able to take some form of documentation to show them that people are getting the running boards free or at minimum cost.
I do expect them to take care of this. Had I been offered or told about the boards and chose not to buy them at point of sale...would be a different story.

Thanks...but that doesn't help me much. I am in Washington and my '07 didn't come with them standard like they do up North...sigh.
But I do appreciate the thought anyway.

I paid $315 for installation of running boards (rear quarter painting was free from GM) here in Vermont. I made the deal with the local dealer who originally -- and still! -- is charging $625 to install them if they weren't ordered from the factory.
