My HHR was going through rotors every 2 years with warping. First couple of times I did OEM, next NAPA to a more expensive set, next NAPA best you can get, they all warped. The last set I got were some inexpensive Chinese drilled and slotted rotors and they are holding up the best.

 

Gotta keep your rear brakes adjusted properly, and make sure your front wheel lug nuts are not over-tightened.

 

My rear drums apparently had never been adjusted. I had to spin the wheel 15 clicks.

Vinny- I check my rear brakes every oil change, & for me that is 1 x year.

 

I will definitely do that.Pretty sure they are the original shoes.......

 

That is the biggest (imo) help for front rotors longevity..

 

I just inspected cleaned and lubed the contact points , adjusted the shoes and put on the summer rims , I’ll do it again when the weather.., ( I just had a few warm days, I don’t want to think about Fall yet!) my shake wasn’t just the brakes .

 

They are, and the lug nuts are ALWAYS tightened with a torque wrench, then checked after 100 kms.
