Front doors close hard!

My used 08 HHR LT is great, but I noticed that the front doors close hard and loud. My wife likes to 'slam' her door closed. I know the front doors are heavier than the back, and the backs close nicely. I don't want to break anything. Any info or suggestions...besides closing them softly?
Thanks

But seriously, are the strappy kind of things there. The things that prevent the doors from over opening? Also, the door gaskets.
Those are theonly things I can think of.

When I saw your post I thought maybe you were having problems with stiff door hinges, I guess not. Sounds like what you need is stiffer hinges. Maybe water them instead of oil them? Or, perhaps hide the Wheaties from your wife?

Donbrew those strappy things are called 'hill locks'. They are supposed to keep the door from slamming on you if your buggy is parked up hill and to help keep from over opening the door too. For me at least they may as well not be there most of the time when I park uphill.
