Garage/shop build stage 4: air, 220v, more light, insulation, hvac (PICS)
It's done to local building code. The ceiling rafters are insulated, then the "attic" space has a floor made of plywood/OSB, and the actual roof rafters are not insulated. The attic is vented to the outside.
I assume you're going to finish off the walls?
I'm very envious. I finally get into a garage at my present house that's semi-useful (nice workbench and storage), and we gotta move....the new place has an attached 2-car that's just barely big enough for the cars. I'm gonna have to get real creative on storage solutions, and even make a fold-up workbench.

Garage progress looks great (hello from Charlotte by the way)!!!
I wanted to mention, just in general, an idea for a work bench that I had in my previous garage...but unfortunately don't have pictures.
I went to Lowes and purchased a solid core wooden door...no panels, smooth on both sides. I then put a piano hinge along one of the edges (length wise), and then attached the other part of the hinge to the wall, using 3" screws into the studs. I then bolted a set of 3" steel pipe caps to the front 2 corners, and used 2 pieces of 3" steel pipe (cut to the height you want) for the legs.
The point of this was that when I needed the space in my garage, I just popped the legs out of the caps, and the door (work bench) folded flat against the wall.

Oh ok... I thought by the angles and such that you had the insulation on the roof rafters. Didn't realize there was an attic up there as well.
