I will say that I'm super happy I got my HHR just in time for the gas price hikes. Sure beats the mileage I was getting in my 06 Navigator by more than double...LOL

Ohh and don't forget the E85 option....saved .60 cents a gallon yesterday! :corny:

You might want to check how many miles per dollar of E85 vs miles per dollar of real gasoline.

Forget the E 85.

I am thrilled with my MPG around town vs my past vehicles. And with the Turbo upgrade It even got better MPG.

I'm very pleased with my mpg, it's gas prices that SUK

I just went from an 07 Tahoe LT to my 06 HHR LT. It sucks not having a big SUV with a V8 to deal with traffic but the MPG's are much better and the payment is much smaller:lol:

I was driving an OLD merc Mountaineer, getting on my best days 12-15mpg on the Hwy... I am SO Happy to be driving my HHR...It looks cool, feels BIG, but gets 24mpg around town!!... I may have to make a car payment now, but with gas at almost $4 a gallon... Its worth it!!.
It doesnt feel much smaller that the Merc/exploder... until I try to put me, the kids, their bikes, a cooler, etc in the back... LOL.... A little adjustment for me... I feel a hitch is in the near future.
It is SO SO SO nice to be back in a Chevy I can NOT even say!! I had a Z71 before the Merc and cried when I had to let go of it...

E85 like said does not yield as good as gas milage as fuel that has no ethenol mixed into it. CT has 10% Eth mix and when we go south to New Jersey, on average we get 1.5-2 MPG increase right there, and being a little cheaper. But what I do like is E85's ability to handle detonation.

My HHR will Ave between 26.5 to 28.0 MPG, CT gas, and depending on how many hills, mostly free way driving. 2.2L Auto. My 2000 Buick Century w/ a smaller v6 3100 Series motor will do 24-26 MPG. Kinda annoying considering the 2 different motors. No matter, though as both require the same amount of fuel for a fill up.

I am hitting the road today from Orlando to Huntsville, AL. I considered doing E85 all the way but the mileage sucks for sure.

I don't drive much around town when I'm home so E85 is fine for me but on these long trips where I can get either 300 miles to a tank or almost 500 to a tank.... it's an easy option.

And yet in a few years the HHR will be considered a gas guzzler. I drive the HHR to work 4 days a week, even though its supposed to be my wife's car. Its sure a lot cheaper than driver my Trailblazer!

I had a Prius before the HHR SS. Yes, it got better mileage. But not THAT much better, for all the hype. The only way to get serious mileage from a Prius is using serious hypermiling techniques, which drive me crazy in about five minutes. I got between 30 and 40 (and NEVER saw over 40). And it was WORSE around town than on the highway, which is opposite of what is advertised. My HHR gets 25 pretty much all the time. So I will gladly give up 5 MPG for the difference in performance, handling, braking (the Toyota had serious braking issues that they wouldn't admit to) and, most important, will actually move if the road is slick (the Prius anti-spin - which can't be turned off - is so agressive the car won't even move in an inch of snow). Of course, I work from home 3 days a week, so only have to commute the 30 miles to the office two days a week, which makes the gas prices pretty moot. :D
