yesterday in the So Cal OC. 4.15 for reg and 4.55 for top grade, diesel was 5~!
I remember well the gas lines and ration days of the 70s in the Bay Area and people around here are snatching up locking gas caps faster than the places can keep them in stock. Also, the school buses in our district have been getting hit on a regular basis. Well, a tank that holds 300 gallons of diesel is a target but with no locking caps the state is eating the losses.
I have said for years that we have had it pretty easy with prices. There are many other countries who have been paying the lion's share and don't require near the amount we consume. Sooner or later the tide will force the hand and alternatives, real ones will have to be developed. It's a matter of who greases the loudest wheel first with the biggest pockets.

Yesterday morning my favorite fuel stop was charging $3.89 for regular. Eight hours later I drove by and the price was up to $3.95! I figure someone in an oil producing country farted near a well, scared the investors who thought production would go down, so the price went up. Then the wind shifted and everything was okay....except the price. When the price of oil drops, the price of gas hardly moves. I am NOT looking forward to heating with oil this winter.

I know I shouldn't, but dang it, it was too gorgeous of a day yesterday not to take a long drive down PCH. Stopped at Costco in Irvine and payed $4.13 for 89.

OK, this is sad--on 6.1.08 it was $4.13 at Costco. I went yesterday, 6.5.08 and I paid $4.31 for the same gas at the same Costco!

aye!

Oh yeah--did a lot of driving to LA/Long Beach (got lost in San Pedro ), that's why I filled up twice in just few days...

Gas prices here in Calgary have gone down a penny a litre over the last two days. On Wednesday is was $1.29.9 per litre, yestreday it was $1.28.9 and this morning it was $1.27.9

That's a nice trend, hopefully it will continue for the rest of the month so that gas hits $1.00 a litre again.
