Get it While You Can FYI

Just a heads up.

Just a note that with the end of the HHR production coming you may want to plan to buy those things that are non GM for you vehicle. OFten once production ends over the next 5 years once items get sold out many companies do not restock them and move on.

Many companies find that people tend to buy add on stuff for their new cars and not the old ones. Over 5 years their inventories can be depleted and the parts never go back into production unless there is a great demand.

I have owned a Fiero since new and saw the end and the aftermarket parts dry up. Often the parts show up on e bay but not at prices as cheap as now or the parts may also not be in very good condition.

Note I am not saying you have to go get everything but I would plan ahead on the things you really want and just have put off. I have seen many pay a high price to get what they want.

As for the GM parts I would not worry too much on anything for 10 years and even then the high wear interior trim parts are the first to vanish. The mechanical parts tend to be shared with enough cars they seldom are a issue.

The one GM part I would not let go for ever is the Turbo Upgrade. It may be here 10 years from now and it may be gone next year. With GM performance parts it is often hard to judge what ehy keep or kill since they are not production items.

That was my point. Most stock parts from GM will be around for 10 plus years and even the aftermarket replacments even longer.

It is the bolt on custom parts that will vanish. Bug shields, Vent Visors, lowering springs. Turbo upgrade parts and the like.

The only stock parts that will be hard to find first will be high wear interior parts. They get broke and replaced and once stock is gone it is gone. That takes about 10-15 years.
