Getting my HHR this week!

My dealer is getting my HHR for me this week. 1LT in dark silver with 2.4L 5 speed and sunroof. No other options - keepin her sleek. I was wondering how loud the CGS intake is over stock. I am trading in an 04 Dodge Neon SRT4 . The SRT is very loud and my wife hates it, but it has alot of power (Currently 240hp at the wheels). I realize that the HHR isnt going to be a race car, but always looking for a little boost. BTW, great site, I have been browsing/trolling the site for a while now.

hard to tell from the video if the intake is loud or if its the exhaust. Outside can be loud, just needs to be quiet in the cab

I only really hear mine from inside the car when I tramp on it. So much of it is a matter of opinion. Best suggestion is find someone in your area that has one installed and go for a visit. I am very happy with mine and my wife doesn't really hear any difference than the stock. Welcome to the site.

First off.... to ChevyHHR.net...the best place online for anything HHR.

I have the CGS and IMCO T924 on my HHR and I love it. I personally don't find the sound to be intrusive. In fact, the only time I really notice it, is when I'm getting on it. When at cruising speed with all the windows up, I don't notice any more noise than I did with the stock muffler and filter.

My best suggestion is to either find someone who has one near you, or puchase one and give it a while. If you don't like it, you can always sell it in the classified section here and someone will snatch it up.

Being a female myself, I can relate to what your wife is saying, as can SindyDix. I didn't want something that was going to be distracting...just something to give the car a little more zip and this combination has filled the bill for me.

Great. After I get the HHR, I'll be going after that. nothing can be as loud as the old SRT4 :) . As far as finding someone locally that has one, that's pretty much not gonna happen. I have seen about 5 of them in town, none of them modded at all. My wife's boss has a daytona blue 2lt, but she isn't interested in doing anything to it.

not sure. I had a short throw in my srt4 and really liked it, but the shifter is so smooth in the HHR I may not touch it - for a while :) Do the goldline springs ride hard?
