Glove box repair

So I've owned my ss for aprox. 2 1/2 years and the whole while I've pretty much just dealt with having my glove box broken. Prior to owning and surely why I got such an awesome deal is all the handles/switches, or damn near, were broken. Everything from the dome light to the steering wheel controls, all the way to the glove box latch. Everything has since been fixed aside from the glove box. The latch I replaced however the cheap plastic tabs that are part of the main dash are broken so the hooks on the glove box have nothing to attach to. I've tried to remedy this with metal tabs and glue, but after 1 or 2 uses and they break off again. Just wondering if it's a simple or difficult process to remove and replace this portion of the dash. Hhrs at the junkyard are a dime a dozen in my area so parts are available

Evidently it is one piece. Are you talking about the latch that holds it closed or the tab that keep it from dumping the contents on the floor?

How about a string and a couple of screws?

As far as I know, the entire door/box can be replaced by turning a few screws.

Which glove box are you referring to? The upper storage bin, or the passenger side bin?

Can't really see the area I'm referring to in the diagram but the 22 line is pretty much pointing at the portion of the dash that is broken on mine. The glove box itself is fine

In this pic, the 3 bottom hooks on the glovebox.. the little tabs the glove box is hooked to. They are all missing so while the glove box is latched it pretty much free hangs and as soon as I open it, it just falls out.

I believe if the pins are good the box just pops off of them. Go to the pick a part and look at one for sure.

Sounds like somebody had a flock of really rowdy kids.

I found a pic that may help. Are the hinge pins, shown here, broken? Or is it the part of the door itself that snaps onto the pins that is broken?

It's those plastic pins under the screws. It's all 1 piece so unable to just replace them individually.

Either way I think the face plate is replaceable. Or, they wasted money on those screws around it.

Oooohh, I don't think there is a faceplate. It looks like it's the entire dash, #15 in the exploded diagram. I hope I'm wrong.
