Angry GM Parts Direct Gone Flop Bop

Has anybody placed an order and tried to get a parts person or add or delete anything lately ??

I placed a $400 order online just over a week ago and got a confirmation right away. Good...

Then 3 days later I got an email that they were not able to fill any part of the order and were putting it on a Hold Basis and should be able to fill in approx. 3 days. Bad...
I did not hear back from them an got a little nervous as I needed 2 of the parts ASAP. So,

I started trying to contact them to let them know and also find out what the status was on the complete order. Good...

I have tried every avenue known to man to reach someone to talk to about my order. Bad...

When you call ... what you get is a recording telling you there hours of operation and please leave a message for a prompt return call.

I have left 4 messages over 4 days without a Prompt return call. Bad...

Now when I call, the Mail Box is full and you are screwed in trying to get any help. Bad...

I have even tried to Chat Online but it says there is no Operator available to chat. Real Bad...

Still no response on the 3 day delay or what ever .. Bad

I have reached the point where all I want to do now is Cancel my Order and
place it with someone that cares about their Customers. They sure as H-ll Don't

But at this point I can't.

I scrolled down to the bottom of the page and found that they are actually Flow GM Auto Center in Winston-Salem, NC. There is a phone number listed there.

Yes.... I tried that 5 different times and got no where.

I got a person once @ the Dealership and they transferred me to the online Sales Customer Service Dept. where I got a gals voice message telling me she was not available and to dial zero for help which took me back to the full message mailbox.

Unbelievable how screwed up they are and nobody seems to be fixing it at this point.

See this is why I had a feeling not to order from them. There has been a number of complaints online to this tune. Thanks for the info.

All I know is that I wanted to order something recently that I ordered a year ago and the shipping more than doubled which put the part at full retail cost. Needless to say I did not order it.

PARTS DIRECT was always bad with this type of customer service......and has been the topic of discussion on many car forums.

Now if they initiate the call, it seems to work out ok. But you initiating the call or ay type of contact has presented much resentment by many car owners. Next to impossible.

Good luck....But I would try contacting the BBB in their locale and issuing a complaint, if it is at all possible.

Give gmpartsoutlet.net a chance. They saved me a couple $1000 when my side curtain airbags poppped. Many orders are "free" shipping ($8.00 handling), close to eBay pricing. They also have a really nice search.

No connection, just happy customer!

A really minor defense is "vacation time". Don't get your car stolen in D.C. when THE stolen car cop is on vacation, from personal experience.

Have ordered stuff thru GmPartsDirect and never had a problem.

Granted the most recent thing in ordered was oil filter/cap/O-ring.

where they get you most of the time is on the shipping. ~

I ordered from them one time. A pair of fall edition headlights. The passenger side had one tab missing, drivers side had been crushed so bad it pushed one side of the crack past the chrome reflector and it got caught. I emailed them saying both were broken. They said they would happily send another pair. Packed better this time. They were, wrapped in 3 layers of bubble wrap and the box completely filled with paper. The passenger had the same tab broken off and another one on the bottom. The driver side had a big u shaped crack in the lens. Never did get a good set, I just gave up. It wasn't worth jumping through all the hoops to me. If they want to empty there broken crap from their warehouse by sending it to me, they can think again. I'm not going to waste more money shipping garbage back and forth.
