Seems interesting, but what I would like to see is the fob automatically unlock the doors as you approach the vehicle instead of having to push the button. Many European and Japanese cars have this feature, why not GM as well.

Very cool but the electronics to make all that work will be far too much to ever be on a HHR in the near future.

GM does use smart key on the the Cadillac STS, XLR, and I believe on Z06 Vettes also.

If Suzuki can put smart key on the Grand Vitara ($25,000 loaded) then GM/Chevy should be able to put it on the HHR.
