Good Deal or a Steal (too much)?

2008 Chevy HHR 1LT with the 2.2 liter. Only 5 thousand miles on the clock. Dealer is asking $16,147 plus a additional $599 for transfer (from Kansas City, KS to Orlando,FL)

I dont think its too bad, is that a special edition or are those wheels a new style? Of course if thats what they are asking then they are waiting on a counter offer...at least thats what I think.

I paid 15000 for a 2006 2LT last september with 16000 miles on it. Yes you should make a counter offer. I wish mine had that color interior

I would say thats too high for a used when invoice for a 2008 HHR LT Base is $16,584.75 + $640 Destination. Watchout for Carmax as they aren't always the best deals. They say no haggle, but sometimes their prices don't make sense. I've seen some cars go for real good deals and some much higher yet all were the same car and all had the same options. I'm thinking some of the cars they gave to much on the trade in and are trying to get some of that back.

With almost 5K on the clock this car isn't new. So why should it cost the same it cost the dealer in the first place? Carmax sure didn't give the previous owner invoice for the car as a trade. Not when they can buy it new for a few hundred more. That should be the bargaining point.

I would say look around some more, i know i'm an odd situation but my 07 1lt with 7 miles on it was 14.5. The gm employee discount helped for me, but with the miles i would say offer him 15 and give him your number.

There are so many for sale in FL, why get one from KS?
If you look on ebay you can get an 07 or 08 new or used.
I know Tampa has alot for sale as does St. Pete.
