part number for black leather steering wheel

The part number for the HHR black leather steering wheel is
#15907684

Price is $118.39 plus 26.05 S&H (total $144)

This includes the harness and radio buttons and silver bezel covers.

The buttons are the "tall ones" as in the 2007.

Good luck!

-Brrrrroom Brrrroom....

Anyone want to buy my old resin steering wheel? (Black with silver bezels)

I like this idea of replacing the wheel with a leather one. I currently do not have the radio buttons, but would like them, are there any extra steps in order to get the radio buttons to work?

Well, The Black Leather wrapped Wheel arrived, with silver Bezels.

Installation was a snap. A recap for you for you:
-Detached Battery (Neg comes off first and goes on last!!)
-Used two long hex keys inserted into the small holes on the sides of the steering wheel, this releases a spring and the horn and airbag pops right out. (play with these on your replacement wheel first, its a pretty clever design.
-Removed two yellow hold tabs (plastic) that keep two electrical connectors attached to back of the horn/airbag. (Thats why you unhook the battery, you do not want to set the airbag off -potentially VERY dangerous if powered-) On my 2007 one plug was pink/grey and the other white/grey. Impossible to reverse. Nice design.
-Then used my socket to unbolt the steering wheel nut.
-Then wiggled the old wheel off. It took some wiggling.
-Detached the old socketed (cruise control) wiring from the old Wheel.
-its now off.

For reassembly everything was done in reverse. The horn/airbag attached with a good push into its spring clamps.

There were no settings to change on the radio etc. (Mine is a 2007 LT)
The new radio buttons worked perfectly upon re-attaching the battery (Positive first, then negative).

The only thing that took a long time was realizing that the horn/airbag MUST be detached at the back of the horn/airbag through the plastic plug connectors. These wires do not detach with a socketed plug at the same place the cruise control/radio harness attach.

Be sure you properly torque down the steering wheel nut, a drop of locktite is a good idea too. You do not, of course, want this coming off in your hands in 12,000 miles....

I also just did this swap! As stated above this is an easy and great mod!

The only thing that I did differently was remove fuse number 13 to disable the Airbag.

Now I am wondering if my standard Ebony steering wheel that I took off would be worth anything to anyone?

Thanks to the members that posted this originally.

Wheel installed very easy. I didn't unplug battery, but did pull fuse right by battery, and #13 to disable airbag. Had a tough time taking off wheel, but a few sprays of WD40, and it wiggled right off.

One thing, make sure that the piece under the wheel does not unwind. mine did, and i didn't set it correctly, the wheel didn't make a full left turn because of it I had to take the steering wheel off and turn that piece one rotation to the right.. works like a charm now!

My Chevy guy says that # is discontinued and has been replaced with #25816511. And that number is sold out.
