Head and shoulders above your last car?
For me? Anything is head and shoulders above my last car. 1987 GMC Caballero. I love the thing, fully loaded in 1987.
However, the Caballero:
- Gets 11-14 MPG
- Oil Pressure and temp gauges are shot
- Leaky fuel tank
- No lumbar support
- Two speaker sound system
- Weak suspension
- Frame creaking at high speeds
- Automatic transmission lags
To me the HHR is head and shoulders above what I'm driving. Great style, better sound, better handling, more comfortable, better gas mileage, more consistent shifting.
A friend of mine test drove an HHR and felt it was lacking all over the place. Needless to say, he's been driving a Lexus and a BMW for years. To me, this thing is a wonderful improvement.
Your thoughts?

Yeah, the only reason I couldn't get out of my first speeding ticket was because the cop spent 20 minutes arguing with me about a mismatch in between what he thought my car was and my registration. Reg. says GMC Caballero but the car didn't have any emblems except the hood ornament and the only thing that said Caballero was the steering wheel, which he insisted I could get anywhere.
They're rare, I think 1700 were made in '87 vs. 13000 Chevy's.

Not head and shoulders above either of my last 2 cars. My Chrysler Crossfire was premium in every aspect compared to the HHR but that also includes price. Now compared to my Ford ZX3 that I'm still driving it is similar. What gives the HHR an edge in its price category is the versatility you get with it
