Head is spinning!

Hi all, I've been searching for an HHR for several weeks now that has the options I want at a great price. I have looked at and driven half a dozen 2LTs and a couple LSs but still haven't found one to park in my driveway.
I was at a couple Chevy dealers yesterday and went from looking at an 06 2LT with almost every option to checking out a BRAND NEW LT on the showroom floor with few options. The new price was MSRP 21000+ dropped to 16650 so they can unload the last few they had.
I really don't want to settle for one I wont' be completely happy with, but my head is spinning from searching the internet and driving miles and miles in my gas guzzling S-10 Blazer!
I found and drove an 08 2LT Black w/black int. with 48000 miles and at this moment I can buy it for 12000 with some of the factory warranty left till 2013 and the 12m/12000 mile waranty. Is this a good deal or should I/would you keep looking? I still may have some haggling room but not sure how much untill I actually sit down at the dealer and really try for their lowest OTD offer. ANY AND ALL OPINIONS WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED... Thanks

Hey bud. I got my 08 Shadow Edition with 29k miles for $10,892 OTD including tax title and plates, no trade in, nothing down.. I'd say with 48k miles, you can haggle to $10k flat or $9,500+taxes. Hpe this helps.

Happy Hunting.

Maybe it's me or maybe the general area i live in, but it seems the dealers around me want far too much money for these things! I would really like to know how some of you guys get such good deals on your HHRs. If I offer them 10000 they just might laugh me out of the showroom? Worth a try tho'

older with more options

I think the older car with more options will make you happier over the long term. I never knew how much I would like heated, leather seats! Non-SS HHR used prices have gone up in the last year, and the 12/12 sounds like the car is GM certified. However, I think you still have some negotiating room below that 12K.

Look man. I'm telling you. Tell them what you want, and what price you had in mind. I had to do a bit of talking, but good prices come when you negotiate with them.

Are you also shopping private sales, Craig's list and so on?

Not to rub it in but my '07 2LT was $11k out the door with 19k miles. I got it from a "used car lot" and they price matched for an '08 LS that I checked out at a dealer which was less car with more miles. It wasn't much haggling.... I saw mine first, drove it, walked...... saw the LS, got a price for out the door, walked and went back to the first place with those papers in hand and they said "sure, we can do that".

I did end up buying the first one I saw, but in a round about way....

Our area blows. Its as simple as that. I think I told ya before I got mine from 8 hours away in OH because it was what I wanted and the price I wanted.

Id find what you're looking at at the dealership elsehwere and go in with that of fine you won't sell me it for that price this dealer will. I know the shopping around sucks but its up to you if the annoyance is worth the price.
