Headlight repair...

Does anyone have any idea on how to remove the headlights in an HHR. I have read that you have to go in through the wheel well in order to change the bulb, but how do you get to the headlight if you need to remove it? Any help would be great. Thanks

You have to remove the entire front bumper to remove the headlight? That is crazy and a real pain in the a$$. For the simple mod that I was going to do it is not worth the trouble. I'll just have to wait until I have the time to do it I guess. Thanks for the help.

It's a pain to remove, but it makes sense from a production standpoint. Just like removing the entire engine cradle and suspension from underneath.

Just to be certain... you do mean to remove the entire headlamp assembly correct??

To replace the bulb just go thru your inner fender well.

Just making sure...

Yeah, I wanted to remove the entire headlight. I was going to take it apart and paint the inside like some others have.

How hard is it to remove the front bumper? Sounds like it would be a pain, but it could be simpler than it sounds I guess.

Only took me about 20 minutes to remove the one on my SS...

IMO though, if its your DD and you're going to paint your headlights buy a second set first and paint those... then swap them out for the ones on the car and sell them if you wish

I did mine over the course of months. There was no rush to get them done

Here is a link for removal: thanks to 1Panel2NV

Thanks for the tip. I will have to look around and see how much I can pick up an extra set for. That would be easier and make more sense.
