Smile Hello all

Just a newbie saying Hi to everyone. Purchased a Cardinal red 1 LT last week with Sun and Fun package, cashmere leather, loved the look. I've already added the lower grill mod for safety. The car came with the factory protective plastic on it but I felt better about adding another layer of protection. The mod instructions posted on here were great - thanks. Does anyone know if the 06-07-08 grilles are interchangeable? I have the satin one and want to add the bright chrome one. The dealer is telling me that the 08 grille is on back order because GM hasn't released them yet. Something about needing a vin for car that already has chrome grille to order one... Thanks all.

Welcome to the site and good luck with the new ride.
Smart move on your part to add the lower mesh grill for extra protection, plus it gives the HHR a cleaner look.
Used chrome grill's show up on e-bay. I would not pay more than $100.00 for a used one with shipping. New one's run about $120.00.
Go to gmpartsdirect on the web, they usually have better prices than the local dealers.

Grille Mod

Thanks for the warm welcome! The mod I did on the grille was just the gutter mesh (aluminum) it looks pretty good. I got a price of $122 for a new chrome grille but he said it'd be back ordered for awhile since it wasn't chrome on the car when I bought it. If I give him a vin from an original chrome one he can get if faster... Guess I could find one on a used car lot somewhere. I'll get some pics up in the next day or so, thanks everybody.
