Cool Hello! My black HHR with 2.4L & 5-speed (half meg of pics)

Heres my new (to me) 2007 HHR.

Black on black with the 2.4L and a 5 speed!

Black chrome package too I think. I dismissed it as normal chrome at first. Until I cleaned/waxed it and realized there is a smokey coating over it. It must have faded some. Its not nearly as impressive as black chrome corvette wheels I've seen.

But it's funny because the 2 things I wish it had when I bought it were: Black chrome and leather seats. Looks like I have the black chrome afterall :) And I'm kicking around the idea of Katzkins leather.

5 speeds are hard to find with the 2.4L This was the only one with that combo I could find around chicagoland and luckily I found it in this black beauty!

So heres some pics... I tried to keep image size to ~100k each

Welcome to the HHR familia!
Great color choice--but if I'm not mistaken (I am sure I will get corrected), I think you have a Fall Edition??

My LT2 is the shiny chrome and I don't have that cool stripe. The FE had the smoky chrome. VERY nice!

Do you guys think darkgraphite leather with a silver inner insert would look good in there?

Dark graphite is teh katzkins recommended replacement color for ebony interior I have. And I could have choice of insert color.

Was thinking picking a color like bright blue or red to theme throughout the car (engine bay, calipers, seats) just one other color and doing it tastefull. But now I'm thinking just black and chrome (or silver) should be it...

Thumbs down leather and interior colors

I am really considering getting a katzkins kit tomorrow so I can have it for when I have time off at the end of the month. Would be a big project

was thinking maybe a black "exotic" insert but even another 100 puts the cost over the top quick.

Just a normal black insert may look good it perforated, but there's other parts of the interior that are really light.

Like WTF was Chevy thinkin when they put a light gray headliner and pillars in a black interior?? I've changed headliners once before but it was a ***** to R&R, and that one was much much smaller too than the beast of a headliner board in the HHR.

I think if I do 2-tone it has to be basic leather for cost and durability
