I would really love an intergrated bluetooth system in my car.
I was tinkering with a nice Pioneer double DIN on Saturday. I was able to pair with it, and send it music from my phone. I think the last thing the sales rep was expecting was Bagpipe Music! Also, when looking at Bluetooth and car stereos, beware. Oftentimes, the info will say "Bluetooth Ready" when it really means Bluetooth after buying and installing a $100+ module... In a Perfect world, I would have a stereo that looks stock, but has bluetooth... |
I have no issue with the new law. I agree there is a fine line between liberties and control. There are those smart enough to do better. My dad has never answered the phone other than on speaker or hands free while in the car. I have always tried to be hands free as well.
It's the people who don't care and text, talk, email, and read the newspaper who screw it up for everyone. Yes, people read the newspaper while driving. I do an 80 mile roundtrip every day to work and there are people who read the paper while driving. Stop and go traffic? Reading the paper. 80 mph in the fast lane? Reading the paper. Getting flipped off by angry motorists? Reading the paper. The CHP has been keeping stats on 'distractions' when accidents ocdcur for many years. Phone use has been a top offender for years. Number 2, eating, IIRC. |
you know what they say the first thing you should do after getting in an auto accident ............HANG UP YOUR PHONE lol

For Xmas, my kid sister gave me a jabra sp5050 hands free blutooth speaker. that mounts to the visor.
Simple directions to 1st time pair it to the cell phone. After which it's a breeze to use. When I get in the car I press a button to pair it and I'm good to go. When I leave the car it auto shuts off after 15 minutes. It works pretty good but I because of the phone a nokia 6126, the voice dialing doesn't work so well. If I yell loud enough it dials but usually the wrong number:lol:  So I still have to break out the cell phone to dial a number, which even with speed dial I don't do while I'm driving. |
