You definitely should have gotten 2 keys. When I bought mine they had misplaced the 2nd key, so they made me a new one. They should come standard from the factory with 2. Considering the cost to have an HHR key duplicated, I go up there and tell them you want one FREE OF CHARGE.

There is a way now. Bulletin 06-08-49-016 just issued to reprogram the BCM that will "activate the backlighting to full intensity during daytime hours". My concern would be if the radio display and temp/odometer display would then be dim and hard to see in the daytime? i am still debating about having this done to my HHR.

I have a lot to ask my dealer. He's gonna hate me.

Let him be mad. You should have gotten 2 keys. If he doesn't like it...tough noogies.

Hey, NEVER feel bad about asking your salesperson, or other dealer personal, a question or favor.

They sold you a vehicle and made a nice "chunk" of money. Don't ever believe a dealer does NOT make money on a vehicle....no matter what they tell you.

No matter what a dealer tells you, they NEVER sell at the REAL COST number (again, this was my business for years, and as such, was previledged to a lot of various manufacturer information and programs).

Besides, in this instance, the worsed they can say is, "NO".

I have to go on Saturday am because they're open til 5pm and I get off of work after that. Also, they have to test drive my HHR because the wheel alignment seems to be off. I let go of the wheel and it goes towards the left. I also have to tell them about the radio popping as well. I have an 05 Grand Cherokee which I picked up in Nov '04. First year models are a pain.

One more thing.....
The steering wheel controls need to be harder to push or more recessed. Every time I back out of the driveway I accidentally mute the stereo.
