HHR Fog Lamps

I have a 2010 HHR LS that has the fog lamp housing and bulbs in them, however; there is no button for them (like in other models where its next to the traction control). With that said, i havent looked behind the fender well yet and inspected the bulbs nor have i looked to see if it even has a wiring harness to them. Just for reference, i bought this hhr used about 2 years ago and i have always wondered about them but never took the time to check, so now im curious. Would my hhr be designed to have fogs that are running light fogs, or maybe some other reason? im just trying to determine why the housing and bulbs would be there but not the button or a way to turn them on.

I think it might be that a prior owner just liked the looks of them but did not want to go thru the hassle of hooking them up.

Personally I like their looks but would probably not use them.

Sometimes people install them after-market and hide a switch under the dashboard. If it is a LS then it's doubtful that it came with them.

If you do find a switch be warned that they probably did not wire them up correctly.

A. they should have a relay, or it's a fire hazard
B. they should be disabled when the high beams are on, or you risk breaking the law.

It is a possibility that someone just put them in for looks, also thanks for the extra info. I'm going to test into them this weekend and see what was done, will update in a few days.

Welcome to the site, pop the inner fender liner out and have a peek for wires to them

I use mine all the time for DRL instead of the regular headlamps, I like the way it looks. My 08 LT has the button on the center console. I automatically just turn off headlight and turn on fogs in the day time out of habit. I use Diode Dynamics LED fog light in mine, very brite and clean white light and very little current draw.

Hmm. On mine, if you turn on the fog lights during the day time, it automatically turns off the DRL's.
No need to turn off the headlights manually.
Maybe your's is different ?

I have noticed that fact on other HHR's, my DRL will stay on when I turn on the fogs.....don't know why.
