Has anyone found it difficult to put it into gear once the Vechile has been sitting for awhile. I find every morning after i park my car in the gararge it is very stiff to put into gear. Takes some playing aorund with it to finally get it into any gear. After that no problems at all for the remainder of the day? Has anyone else experienced this problem?

 

I've had that happen on occasion and it's usually just 1st gear. It seems like it's mostly when its cold outside. And you're right...once it gets going it's not a problem the rest of the day. It doesn't happen to me every time I start it though.

 

Sounds as if your HHR has it's own nightlife.

 

 

I haven't noticed any problems with mine at all. but it's only a week old. My 96 jetta on the other hand...180K+ miles on the org. clutch, and when it's cold, it's more than a little stiff to shift, but after it warms up -no issues.

 

No problems like that here, and I have a VERY short shifter to boot.

 

How many miles on it?

I found that mine got considerably smoother after some miles ran up. Also changed to Mobil 1 at about 2,000.

 

I have no problems like that.
Try putting it into second then in to 1st.
I have to do that with my tiburon.

 

Mine has less than 1900 miles and I changed the oil to Mobil 1 Synthetic about 300 miles ago. Maybe I need to drive it more.

 

I have a 5spd. i had the exact same issue. I had to pop it into 2nd gear and then back into 1st. You'll eventually break it in. I don't have that problem anymore now that I have some miles on it.
