HHR Nationals

Has anyone stepped forward to help out with next years HHRitage Nationals? I have a suggestion for where to have it.

Carlise, Pennsylvania The "All GM-Nationals" Event at the Carlise Car Show. 26 - 28 June 2009, will be celebrating General Motors 100th Anniversary. Here is the website www.carlisleevents.com/ce/events/gm-nationals/ for all the details. Looks like it will be a huge event.

Jeff

Check out the "Car Club Relations" page

Check out the "Car Club Relations" page. I'm sure we could get 25 HHRs to be there.

I am all for Carlisle. I already attend the Performance and Style and All Trucks, every year.
I had my HHR in The T building last year.

An event billed as "national" should occur in the heartland, IMHO. Having to drive close to 3,000 miles each way from either coast will rule out many willing participants from the get-go.

It is my opinion a National meet should travel the country to give everyone a chance to attend. If it is held every year in the same place....well....you'll only get the same people showing up every year. Especially in this time of high gas prices. Maybe I've stepped into an area I shouldn't have...

My BAD! Should have done a search first

My bad! I searched the site and found the thread dated 29 July. HHRitage Foundation will be held in Branson, MO in 2009.

I put my foot in my mouth.....again! They really should invent cinnamon flavored socks. My foot wouldn't taste so bad then.

Don't be so hard on yourself, Jeff... it is a GREAT idea...

But it seems like the location of the HHR Nationals has been already set for next year in Branson, MO again. But that's no reason to give up on doing a different "national" HHR event on the east coast at the GM Nationals this June.

Why not keep it going and just call it something else...

HHR Carlise Classic?

HHR PA Partytown?

East Coast HHReunion?

Maybe pick a name and start a thread looking for ideas and volunteers to help.

Start out simple... See if the GM Nationals would allow a reserved parking area for HHRs Only. Suggest to them that a specialty interest in the HHR community will bring in a LOT more attendees for their show.

Maybe pick a charity to help advertise the event and provide a donation to them based on your registration.

With the GM Nationals event already planned, maybe they can partner with your idea.

Good luck...
