HHR resale value
 

I bought a 2009 and have no plans to sell it. I was just wondering how the HHR is holding up on resale value.

I know when the PT's first came out I thought they were pretty cool looking, but then I saw them on used car lots within a year. That spoke volumes to me.

I don't see used HHR's... a good sign?

BTW: We rented a PT for a week.... what a hunk of junk!

Not sure where you are looking but there are tons of HHRs on used lots as well as rentals. The resale value is not very great either.

Just from the prices I have seen of late the HHR is not doing too bads in a very tough market.

While HHR values are lower than we would like to see other cars are dropping even more. If gas prices should rise this summer we will see it support better HHR prices.

Cars like the Grand Prix, Challanger, 300 and Taurus were more expensive than the HHR and at least in the midwest can at time be had for less than a 3 year old HHR.

I have seen 300's under $10K and seldom do I see a 3 year old HHR advertised for less than $9,999.

As for the PT. the fad is over and there are just so many around it is killing the price. Supply and demand is killing it.

Also Chysler never has enjoyed good resale value.

My observations is based on NE Ohio dealers. We have few used ones sitting around but the dealers are packed with new ones even the SS.

Just goto the Kelly Blue Book web site or NADA web site put in information on a HHR. Mine came back (06 LT1) had a value of 1/2 the $19K sticker price.

If you try to trade it in, it isn't even close to what you see. The dealers are selling 06 LT's around here for under $10K, so they aren't giving anywhere near that in trade. But the HHR isn't the only thing affected. I just helped my brother in law purchase an 06 Ford Five Hundred with 30K miles for $10K from a dealer. That car cost more than most HHR's new. Basically most any domestics have terrible resale, and even some of the foreign cars aren't doing well right now either.

but I just bought a 08 HHR SS with under 10,000 miles for under 16,000 and had the dealer throw in the stage 1 install. I plan on keeping it so it didn't bother me but the value seems to drop pretty quick.

Everyone knows most cars do not hold their value unless they are really rare to begin with. I know the dealership in town here has had two on their lot for over three months. I wish I could give them a home.

I just did a blue book quote on my 08 2LT and the trade value was $13,725.00 and the private party sale value was $16,165 and suggested retail value is $18,115.00. I highly doubt I would ever trade it in because I would never get back the $7k something I dropped in mods. But it is nice to see that they are holding their value pretty good.

What he said. Caddy is another one that will rob the bank. 1/2 within 1 year. Which is nice if u want a 1-2yr 40k Caddy for 20K.

i paid 12500 for my lt. kelley says 10500. its an 07 so new i wanna say it would have been at least 22000.
