Well put. I've got a 1998 Z28 and bought it new. It's got a 6 speed and hauls ass. But I only ave. 15.5 mpg. I know a heavy foot.

If they make an SS with an auto I'll be sorely tempted to get one. My shifting days may soon be over.

I'm loving this; I think an Imperial blue, gray cloth, auto, XM radio SS is in my future.

Even got a plan to get it past the wife; leave for work in the '06, come home in the SS! It should look almost like my '06 now, just have to ditch the wing.

Thanks.

Hmm, guess I'll have to pull up real close to the garage or, maybe she'll be hypnotized by the new car smell or... bah, I'll be washing dishes forever.

If they do in fact offer an automatic transmission, I wonder if it will be right away? I hope it isn't something they decide to do late in the model year. It says in the brochure that the SS will be "available late fall 2007"; when will we be able to start placing orders?

Hard to say. It looks like the Panel was also behind. Just have to be patient if you want it. If I remember correctly, some ordered the panel and didn't even know the cost at first.

I remember when the 07 first came out, they showed a new allow wheel for the 1LT that was supposed to be installed Late 2006, but I don't think I ever saw one with them.
