That is the stock rear but it doesn't make a difference seeing as how thats the test mule and not the production model. It's got regular running boards and different rims on the test mule too. The were probably still working on the body differences while testing the engine, suspension, and so forth.

It is. Not necessarily what the production SS will sport.

What about those running boards? They look different than stock ones I've seen. Almost bi-level or something?

They are ground effects not traditional running borads by the looks of it.

I wonder if the exhaust will have a distinctive sound, Turbos tend to muffle the exhaust note, as it acts like a pre-muffler...
The SRT4 doesn`t run a muffler at all, if I remember correctly.
And was there anything about the stereo mentioned???

you are correct about the SRT4 not having a muffler. I like the side ground effects!

it's interesting when you start digging around for info on the Solstice GXP what you find. There is a "drift" site that offers to modify the stock GXP turbo motor to 500 HP!!! Torque 520 lb-ft!!! <OMG!

Now in a rear-wheel drive car like the Solstice that sounds like fun but in a FWD car like the HHR, I would imagine torque steer would be too extreme. But 500 HP sounds like fun any way you put it.

Some of you guys on this board might remember how I imagined the HHR SS would look like back in October of '06...

I was on the right track with one grille bar in the middle but it's not even close to the real thing!
