I don't know of any system that alerts you of a window (or sunroof) open.

Before you get out and If you can stick you hand throught the roof then you need to close it.

Sorry but it just needs to be part of you leaving the car. Just like locking your doors you need to make the effort to think about it and just do it.

Well I'm sure if someone was handy with wiring and stuff they could probably come up with something... I know you can buy buzzers to remind you if your headlights are on (for older cars without the buzzers..) I'm sure you could hook it up somehow, but don't ask me how!

Hasn't happened to me yet, but I know it will sooner or later, since it isn't it an everyday thing (i.e never use it all winter, nights or rainy days), it doesn't become a ritual and/or habitual like locking the doors. Older vehicles had an automatic close when the ignition was shut down, but guessing that was a safety issue and is no longer available. I'm however considering a mod to enable that feature. Simple relay that drops out when the car is turned off closing contacts to power closure of the sunroof. Maybe a sign to warn people to keep their heads, arms (well any body part) out of the sunroof

Alternative as mentioned is a buzzer to notify you that the sunroof is open. While possible there would be more involved. You'd need to mount limit switches to detect that the sunroof is open, probably two to detect both positions (these might exist if that is what currently limits the travel of the sunroof?). Plus the relay to power them when the ignition is off and off course the buzzer. Certainly a safer solution (no need for the sign) but a far more complex modification.

There are aftermarket alarm systems that are able to control the opening and closing of windows. Might be worth checking in to these. There may be one that when you arm the vehicle as you leave, it will close windows and sun roof as part of the locking scheme. Just a thought.

For me, that one time leaving it open in the rain makes me check each time now.
