How many miles on your 2.4

Just bought a used 2006 HHR with the 2.4 engine. It has 38,000 miles. I was wondering if this engine was giving good service and if anyone had gotten high miloes out of it with no or little trouble? By high miles I was thinking over 100,000.

Thanks

Happy Jim

Yeah I think the engines on these are great. Its the body and other minor things that have issues.

Almost 27,000 on my '06 2LT (it's just the grocery and vacation car).

Also wondering why you posted the same question twice...about 5-6 minutes apart??

And Jim....I've had several very high mileage GM cars over the past 15-20 years. Why would you expect any less from this newer and more advanced engine (rhetorical)!!

Mine's an 06, bought it with 42K, it has 48K now. Its been a great little car (compared to the Silverado I traded in for it).

I expect it will do 100K+ easily.

08' with almost 15k on it, Can't complain. Wish the gearing was alittle different to help with highway MPG but other then that its been good.

Our '06 2.2L has around 78k and doing just fine. Need to replace some things but funds aren't available for yet.

Answers to Snoopy's questions

Snnopy,

The reason I posted twice in five mnutes is I am new to this forum and this was my second post. I tried to correct some spelling in the first post and I wound up posting it twice, sorry.

As far as my questions on expectations of mileage on this engine, it is new to me and I have found most things new are unknown. I was trying to see what history others may have had with this engine who were miles in front of me.

I thought it to be a reasonable question.
