I cant get over the versatility
I am going on another camping trip, and it still amazes me the amount of stuff I can put in this car....
https://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/fil...7/IMAG0072.jpg https://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/fil...7/IMAG0071.jpg with room to spare Inside: 2 sets of golf clubs fishing poles tackle boxes radio flyer wagon 4 folding camping chairs 2 pack n plays (for the 2 nephews) 10 tiki torches 2 gallons of tiki fluid dart board/darts small ice chest spot light beer all the firewood you can see On top in "turtle": Clothes for a week shoes/boots shower/teethbrush/deodorant/etc liquor there might be more that I missed....The combination of gas mileage and cargo space can not be beat with the HHR..and the turbo is a bonus too:thumb: |
Dang that's a lot of stuff.

how new are the rotors? did they shake as soon as you put them in or did it develope after a little bit? |
Very cool, HHR certainly holds more than it looks like it could.

Ha, me and the wife just said that earlier. I had a guy come and pick up a 75 gallon fish tank and stand in his Prius. Took him two trips. I picked up the same tank and stand in one trip. Even I couldn't believe it all fit.
It may not hold as much as a minivan, Tahoe, etc. but you sure can put more in than you would think. |

Amen to that. God I love these cars.

that all depends on driving habits:lol: we will always beat the tahoe, but the my mom can get 18 combined in her trailblazer, which I have accomplished before with some "spirited" driving...
but if we try, any HHR(ls,lt,ss) can do 30 or better for the most part as far as the mileage they are amazing. I recentley was talking to someone about my ss who does not seem to impressed with it maybe jeallous who knows or cares for that matter , anyhow when I told him that I went from 35 mpg to 40 mpg when I tried ethanol free gas he could not believe it. I did mention that is at 65mph and at 70 the mileage drops off not as bad as my 2.4 dropped off but I think its obvious the gearing of the ss is helping with the mileage. Awesome cars definentley quirks to deal with as far as the gm tune goes but worth it. looked again and yup I think ya got the kitchen sink in there:lol: |
Where's the tent lol n it gets great gas I'm avg 20 to 22 flying around still new little wagon so like a little fun but still better then my buddy tbss n my old 300 srt gas almost bankrupt me lol need to learn to lay off the gas I guess

We recently moved my mother-in-law with some vans and open top trailers, etc.
The Mopar brother-in-laws were really surprised when I loaded as much as a Dodge Journey could hold (just on the inside, no top carrier) It also holds more than the wife's Chevy Orlando. Clare |
One thing some of you may not realize......
Check out Badass's pic in the first post again. Note that the right front seat seatback is completely folded down, folding forward, allowing you to carry, if necessary 8' (or more) lengths of lumber or whatever - very handy. |

If you're carefull, play Tetris ALOT and can stand the dust n dirt......you CAN haul a rick of wood in an HHR. I did it the first week I had the HHR.
It is simply amazing what you can haul....comfortably. |
A Rick of wood...

It is simply amazing what you can haul....comfortably. You can put a rick (or cord ) of wood in there...make sure it's very dry. FRESH CUT wood is REALLY heavy. Clare |
Funny seeing your back cab, mine looked exactly the same last summer for camping. I was amazed at how much we could take. I could barely see out the back window. I had three cases of Anahieser Busch to!

Bkm- we have cabins to sleep in. Microwaves to. We are roughing it
And I've already made 1 wood run to burns some logs. Too bad gm discontinued our car |
Totally agree. I've hauled an amazing amount stuff in the three years I've owned this car.
Just took my son to college with him and the wife in the car. All his stuff fit in the wider fold down seat and in the back. Unfortunately, the HHR is not up to the challenge of my daughter. We have to borrow my Dad's Silverado to move her back into college. |
