Typically it doesn't matter how much you personally owe, it's all about how much the car is worth. In my state it has to be around 75% of the value of the car before it's totaled.

Thank you so much for sharing your insite. It has eased my worries.
It has been a long time since I was involved in a accident. If they replace the Doors and the rear quarter panel. I will prolly keep it.

if damage $ = 1/2 of vehicle wholesale value they may Total it, bad news for you if wholesale is 8K and street value is the same then you may have to sue the guilty party for your loss you still owe over 10k they pay 8 you pay the ballance.
I think they fix and you sell and buy a SS

if you have a chance to keep the rear axle i want it. let me know if they let you keep/ buy it and ill come pick it up and pay for it. i dont care if it is bent cause i will just cut it up.

Hope that they chose to fix it. Older HHRs have lost their value very quickly. You probably owe more than what they will value it at. They can find you a comparable used one but that wouldn't be my choice.
