One of the simplest ways is to go to an online gm parts site and search for the part in question. They mostly have pictures like the old fashioned micro-film readers had.
Try places like gmpartsgiant.com, gmpartsoutlet.net there are many others.

"parts breakdown"............most shops, technicians and parts stores refer to these types of pictures as "exploded view". Typically the "exploded view" pics will have a number identifying the item and a description box identifying the part name.
