Interesting DLR Fact......

Well, I blew my drivers side low beam today. As I was coming out of work and hit the lock button on my remote, then the remote start button, then the unlock button, I light bulb came on in my head.(Pun intended) I realized that the DLRs use the HIGH beam filament and not the low beam because when I unlocked the doors both headlights were on. So evidently Chevy made the DLRs use the High beam part of the bulb but somehow controlled how much wattage it is sending to the bulb because they just aren't as bright as when I put the high beams on. Am i on the right train of thought here? Comments?

That is correct, Chevy usually (if not always) uses the high beam side and a lower voltage for DLR's unless they use the high side of the parking/turn signal bulbs.

I was told years ago that they ran 6 volts through the high beam filament.
