interior heat issue
Wondering if anyone else has noticed this...
Here's the story: I've had the HHR for a year, but only this week was the first time that the fair lady came for a long ride with me during cold weather. She complained about lack of heat on her feet, I crank up the heat, turn the heater to feet-only setting, I'm cooking on my side, she's still complaining, I chock it up to hot flashes (mine?). Next day, still cold weather, I put some aluminum motorcycle parts on the passenger floor area to take to guy doing some buffing for me. When I remove the parts from the car they are darn cold to the touch. I think back to my lady's complaints and reach under the dash to feel where the heat is coming from...IT'S ALL BLASTING OUT THE DRIVER'S SIDE; NOTHING COMES OUT THE PASSENGER SIDE. I haven't had the time to get under there with a light. Is this the way the car is designed? Is something else going on?

alot of people complain aobut that but no real fix has been found for it that im awayre of. i remember seeing someone used some pvc pipe to direct the heat. still under warranty? go talk to your dealer may be your best bet.
heated seats
got heated seats , the ladies love, i like it to. i been thinking about putting some tin foil in the dash storage , i think i can make some grilled cheese in there , it gets really hot. i keep my dash vents closed in the winter. maybe you could try it. and turn that seat down , my hemis are gettin' hot. oh , i allways run my outside fresh air on , and my sunroof tilted, i allways have to turn the heat way down.
my feet vents hardly blow when i have it on split. If i'm in the car for a bit I usually run it on defrost to warm it up, switch to split to get the cabin warm and then just to the feet and leave it. After that point it maintains a good temp and my feet are actually warm. However i hardly ever drive more then 15 minutes at a time unless i'm leaving town.
I've noticed my HHR to be a slow warmer. It has to be driven quite a bit before the heat builds in the car.My 5 mile commute does almost nothing for heat.It juuuuust starts to get warm when I get to work.
I've also noticed the weak floor heat-even when on the floor position.Bi-level?Forget it.What heat?
With a cold wave coming here this week it looks like it's time to give the block heater a try. How's that for a hybrid heating system?Plug it in,warm the coolant.Fire up the car, warm the inside.
