Intetesting interview with Bryan Nesbitt designer of HHR and PT cruiser

This may have been posted before but I thought it was a very interesting video of Bryan Nesbitt explaining how and why he designed the HHR the way he did.

I love what they do with the lights on the vehicle here and at auto shows. Sorta like putting on 20 coats of paint followed by 15 coats of wax. Makes me want to buy another one.

I'll tell you one thing I have found out since buying 2 new 2011 1 LT HHR's and also reading many of the issues that have been posted here on these forums.

Once you get past the all the problems that many of these cars have, it's one of the neatest driving small cars I have owned.
Currently I have no issues left to fix and it's a real Joy to get in it and just go for a ride.
I have had it up to 80 mph on newer asphalt roads and it's as smooth as silk.
No vibrations, no rattles or squeaks and steers straight, solid, and true.

If I had to complain about something it would be the slight wind noise at higher speeds.
Most of that seems to be the exterior mirrors and the radio antenna although I wouldn't trade the current mirrors for smaller ones.

A Shame they decided to drop production when they did.

Just my .02 cents.

Sadly, today anyway, that 'Tube is no longer available. Just to allay any disappointment for anyone who unearths this old thread, I did find this vid featuring Nesbitt talking about the genesis of the HHR:
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6nt9ja
In it he repeatedly mention the 1949 Suburban as the design inspiration for the HHR, not the similar, same-series 1947 as is often reported.
