It's Raining HHR's

People say that after you get a certain car you will see them everywhere. Well I have been HHR crazy for the better part of 2 years and have checked out any HHR that got even close to me. It has been almost a month since I picked up my panel from the dealer and HHR's are everywhere now. I have seen at least 6-7 in the last week with the dealer plates on them still. I think the sustained $3 per gallon and the HHR's coolness factor are starting to put more units on the street, at least here in So Cal. The Panels are still pretty rare but the sedans are going strong. I would like to see the sales stats for HHR's in California, I would bet they sell more here than anywhere else.

Well it aint the gas price that converted me. My 01 Monte Carlo got better mileage with the V6 it had. I was just ready for something cool and different.

I'm thinking that the panels are going to be a pretty rare thing.......the 2 seater part takes the practicality factor out for most people. Everybody loves the look though. I have been stopped many times by people wanting to know about it. Pointing and staring at nearly every corner are the norm.

I still have only seen 2......and one is mine, the other was at the same dealer where I bought mine.

I agree with you on this. I think the new rear window delete option will be the perfect match for those wanting a panel but not willing to give up the rear seats.

If I happen across a salvage unit with a black cloth interior I would take the rear seat and hardware. All of the slots are in the panel for the seatbelts and other hardware so I think it is possible. The passengers should not be prone to car sickness though, because I'm not putting in the windows.

I still don't see all that many around here. I hardly ever get beside or pass an HHR on the highway to work.

As of last week I am still the only one in a 100 miles that has one no other dealers took orders for them.I think they missed the boat on that as they all could have sold them right off the lot.My son loves every time where at a red light watching the people look as they go through the intersection.I think GM needs to send me a monthly check for all the people I have to talk to about it when I go to a store.I have had 2 people follow me till I parked it so they could check it out.

That saying seems to be pretty real...
Right before I got mine, I had only seen 1 HHR in Enid (Pop. about 50,000), and it was a SOM. Then I got mine, which was the first black one in town , and now they're everywhere. Most that I see are just everyday use, but there are at least two in town that are business vehicles.
