Heh, really? I traded in our 06 Monte SS.. which I gave to my wife when I traded her Saturn Vue in for my 06 GTO. So I owed her a nice family car. At first, she resisted the HHR, so I took one home for a test drive and made her drive it.. LOL that's all it took.

Now I want to get rid of goat.. They are nice cars but I just want one car payment.

I hear you my wife didn't even want to look at the HHR. I finally talked her into a test drive and it just made more since the anything else we were looking at. Especially when you consider we have 3 Labs puppies and my wifes parents live in Tucson. Yes, we make that 900 mile trip at least once a year.

After her having to dump gas into Monte SS every few days, it didnt take much to convince her on the HHR. Heck even the Equinox only gets about 19mpg.. So she finally understood that we really didn't need that Tahoe or even a Blazer.

Our son and his stuff fit just fine in the HHR plus there's room to grow so it was a good fit for us.

Looks great. Best of luck with it. Consider the running boards, as was mentioned already. They not only look good, they protect the car from stones and debris as well.

Mine came loaded with stuff I didnt want, and I am gradually removing them. (I wanted a different radio, different wheels, no spoiler, and no luggage carrier. Only the carrier remains)

We looked at a couple that had running boards and my wife didn't like them. She would forget about them and hit her shin.

How bad does it get without them?

It can get bad, The front of the rear fenders get sand blasted. I added them to my 06 & my wife's 07 Ck out the post

Well howdy from Round Rock, Bubba.

Bought a 2LT for my wife last March. Same color as yours, sunroof and leather. It has been a BLAST. Fun car, good looks, great mileage.

You REALLY want running boards. You will never use them as a step, but the rear fenders will get tatered without 'em.

Congrats

Hi, Yeh we've love the HHR. It is an impressive car with the way it drives and handles.

Where can I get running boards?
