I did that as well, then got rear ended about 2 weeks later, so much for the safety it was supposed to add. It is still there and working but I no longer think it does anything for safety.

Don't know anything about LED lamps, but it sounds like they are more hassle than they are worth. I do know that the incandescent bulbs in the 3rd brake light on the Grand Am the HHR replaced were still working just fine after 14 years. Plus I absolutely hate seeing the delay when a vehicle has LED 3rd brake lamps and incandescent regular brake lamps.

Center Brake Light

The power feed for the center stop light is fed directly from the stop switch at the brake pedal, it does not come from the BCM, surprised to hear there have been problems.

Here is the schematic -

I have been looking into this as well. I think the flashing/flickering problems are caused by the lower voltages of the LED's, compared to the incandescents. I tried installing some of them into my S-10's tailights, and they would get stuck on (no flashing) when I turned my signal on. I think they have resistors/diodes or whatever to fix that. Couldn't you just get one of those LED strips of a similar size, attach it to the housing, and hardwire it?

us to uk brake turn light wiring

Anyone
I'm trying to convert my 2006 chevy hhr lt brake turn lights to UK standards. Does anybody know how to do the wiring? I have to add two turn markers to both sides just before the door still on the fender. Add a fog light to the back just under the driver side. As I understand there is only one wire going to the turn/brake indicators on each side in the back. I have to seperate the turn and brake light???? I have read that I can use the back up lights cut the blinker wire and rewire from third brake light in the back. Someone mention running wires from the front back to the turn lights??? Please provide whatever information that would make it quick and pain less.
Scotty also email to scotty.drain@yahoo.com
