Hi I am new to this fourm because I just bought a 08 HHR that was a salvage car. My question is about the airbags and seatbelts. I know because this is a NY salvage I need to buy NEW OE bags (driver & Pass)$$. I also need to replace the crash sensor, clock spring and have the airbag computer reset. I haven't found very much info on the seatbelts (they are extended)? I hear of pre tensioner connectors? What will reset the retractors and can I use the existing seatbelts?? If anybody has info or knows where to get it, it would really help me thru this rebuild.

you have to replace the seatbelts. you cannot reset the retractors as far as i know.

 

i think it's recommended to replace seat belts after a crash for safety
