Hi Everyone,
New to this forum and Just wanted to say HI and ask a question..

Has any one tried this or figured out how to program their fob?

I know that it doesn't need to be taken to dealer cause a while ago, my 70 yr old dad to it in to get fob reprogramed and he was sent to a tech(who thought that dealer charging $70 for reprogramming was a rip off) and he showed him how to do it but he doesn't remember the procedure. He said it can b reprogrammed without having to go to dealer and paying.

Thanks in Advance....

Welcome to the site ramo5150. I just took the ones I bought second hand to the Dealer to program both sets, charged me 50.00, but I bought the trucklet from them.

Hello... I am new to this site also.. And just purchased a 2006 HHR... And only the unlock works on the key fob... I did try the foil and then the remote went a lil crazy...unlocking and locking every time I moved the remote... So my question is... Has anyone tried the replacement Fob from eBay?? I saw they have fun colored ones on there.. For pretty cheap... So thought I'd ask on here first...

Thanks for any help

I want to know if there is a way to find out if the car already comes with the keyless remote or not... The car has automatic door locks and automatic windows..What shocked me from this car is that the passenger side does not have a key hole so this weekend when I took my girl out I looked like an idiot trying to manually open the door on her side only to find out there was no keyhole it can only be opened from the driver side...

Hey John,

I can look into your concern to see what options you may have available. Just private message me your full name, address, vehicle identification number, and current mileage. Thanks

They sure have - use the SEARCH facility and look for KEYFOB (one word) - there are lots of postings over this issue.

Re: foil fix on your fob - pull it apart and take another look at it as the fix does work if done properly.

ahhhhhhh - that posting you refer to was from way back in 2010 - it's very doubtful you will be getting a response.

Oh, having problems with my key remote. It has gone out, and now that I lock the HHR manually, sometimes the key will not unlock the door. ARGH!

Really sorry to hear this. Could you please private message me your name, address, vehicle identification number, and current mileage. This will allow me to look into the features on your vehicle.

Thanks,

I was just to the point of complaining that my fob was not locking the car everytime. I replaced the pad and cleaned the contacts, still only locks sometimes. My old 2008 worked fine, the 2011 is finicky.

Then I read a tech note about something that referenced GM changing timings in some of the BCM functions. Tried holding the "lock" button for a a full second not just a tap, THAT WORKS EVERYTIME. Could this also be the solution to the "remote start doesn't work" problems? I don't have RS so I can't test it.

Your 70 year old dad did not have an HHR, did he? Yes that will work on SOME cars, not HHRs.
