LED Light in the ceiling?

Hi,
I'm new here and I really don't have a clue if this is even the right section, and I'm sorry if it's not. I bought a used 06 2.2L hrr with no owners manual. I found the online ones, but it doesn't explain something I've been curious about. As you all obviously know, the front dome lights are on the rear view mirror instead of the roof of the car right behind the windsheild. Where the dome lights would be in almost any other car, there's a tiny little light that looks almost like an LED light. It's got kind of a bluish tint to it. From what I can tell, it's on basically all the time. I'm really curious as to what this is. Is it something that was installed after market? Or is this standard?

First to the Site ! The Light You are Refering To is for the Window Switches ! If You Were to Put Your Thumb Over the Light You Would See How the Switches are No Longer Visible While Covering the Light ! Enjoy Your HHR and this Site !

It is supossed to light the window switches since they are not backlit or have lights in the buttons. It is fondly called "mood lighting"! LOL

Now why on earth the vehicle does not have a dome light for the rear seats I have no clue.

Little blue lite is on when the headlights are on, easy way to tell if they are on instead of the DRL's. It does provide lighting for the window controls at night, and that light is most certainly a conversation piece.
