Linkage, and no crank

Hey guys, I just bought a 2009 hhr automatic, the guy towed it to me and said he shifted it to neutral from the linkage. I need to get it back in park and I have no clue what the hell I am doing or looking for. I will be forever grateful if one of you can walk me through this.

Welcome to the site. The shift cable controls the lever under the underhood fuse box.

I will give a look there, thank you!

Why didn't he put it back to where he found it? It is his problem, not yours unless you instructed him to do it and leave it.

Are you saying the guy moved the link arm at the trans or from the shifter in the car ?

Peabo Bison 04-20-2020 05:19 PM

Awesome, happy to help!! Now we’ll need pictures as you fix this HHR or modify it.

Was the cable still attached to the shift lever when you moved the lever into park?

Steve
